QUICK TIP: Problems Checking In Files in SharePoint
I’ve run into this a lot while creating new css documents in SharePoint Designer. I’ve also had this issue when uploading images from my machine to Designer.
I get the following alert prompt – ‘We can’t do that for you because the file is no longer checked out or has been deleted.’
Notice here I created a new css document.
When I go to check the file in – there’s that dreaded error and it doesn’t check my file in.
I finally realized that updating the TITLE of the file allowed the check in to work. If you right click the file and go to PROPERTIES you’ll see that the TITLE is just defaulted to the path of the file you created. Update that to what you want and click OK.
Checked in fine now!!! Hope I saved you some head aches.
